1) 1066, by William the Conqueror.
2) 1688, by William of Orange. William of Orange landed with an army of 15,000-18,000 soldiers in England on November 5, 1688. Several skirmishes occurred over the next few days until his army reached London. William of Orange also fought three major battles against James II (in Ireland) to consolidate his conquest. The size of the army, combined with internal political chaos caused a victory without major military confrontation in England proper.
